Naše ZŠ Lánecká Světlá nad Sázavou is attached to en EDUROAM
Eduroam is an international project dedicated to promoting mobility and roaming in national research
and education networks (NREN). In the Czech Republic, this project is covered by CESNET. Our
school was involved in the project in 2019. This took another step towards improving the quality of the
institution's degree provision and prestige.
One approach anywhere
A registered participant can use this wireless network using one user account. The management of
the account is carried out by the home organisation ZŠ Lánecká Světlá nad Sázavou.
The use of roaming is simple, with the participant's properly set device connected automatically as
soon as the eduroam network is available. Much like connecting to mobile operators' foreign
networks works as part of roaming. From there, too, the acronym: Education roaming. The service is
free for all participants.
Activating Eduroam Account
The eduroam uses a username consisting of two parts - the username itself and real estate. For the
username you're used to from other school systems, you'll be adding the @ character as
part of roaming.
Setup of user devices to connect to eduroam
It is not enough to just enter a name and password to connect safely to the eduroam. You must also
set up a certificate check, the easiest thing to do is use eduroam CAT, see documentation on
You will need the following information for manual settings:
Network Name (SSID): eduroam
The connection protocol is as follows: 802.1x
Security and encryption: WPA2 / AES
certify PEAP (alternatively TTLS)
Internal authentication protocol: MS-CHAPv2
RADIUS server name:
Certification authority: DigiCert Assured ID Root CA
IP address is allocated automatically via DHCP protocol
Covered spaces
The eduroam is broadcast in all classrooms, as well as corridors and social spaces.
Filtering traffic
The operation of the school's pupils is filtered in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic.
There is no interference with visitor traffic except outgoing SMTP traffic filtering (TCP / 25), use
SMTPs (TCP / 465) or Submision (TCP / 587) to send mail.
